Center’s Valadez earns state title finish at CUSAW 2021 Fresh/Soph State

PUEBLO — Colorado USA Wrestling held their 2021 Freshman/ Sophomore State Wrestling Tournament at the Pueblo Convention Center the weekend of March 28th. The event was attended by a number of valley based teams including Alamosa, Center and Monte Vista with many finding their way to a podium finish.

Center freshman Jesus Valadez found success that weekend taking first place in the 182 pound weight class. Valadez bested Holly’s Cael Nordyke of Holly in the first place match by a 21-11 Major Decision to take his place at the top of the podium.

For Alamosa, Heavyweight freshman James Sanchez made it to the first place match only falling to Tanner Musser of Meeker by Fall.

Sophomore, Desiree Reveles picked up two wins in the 111 girls weight class going on to take second place.
