Alamosa – Community Resources and Housing Development Corporation (CRHDC), a Colorado based nonprofit with a history of developing strong communities by providing pathways to housing solutions and asset building opportunities, has announced the purchase of Kiva and Southside Apartments and Storage portfolio located in Alamosa.

“CRHDC is thrilled to add these properties in the San Luis Valley in order to preserve these rental communities in Alamosa,” says Arturo Alvarado, Executive Director of CRHDC. “Our intention is to continue to operate the properties in the same manner they have been to ensure continuity and the quality customer service residents are accustomed to. We are happy the current property operations team will stay in place as it is important to CRHDC to maintain jobs in rural communities like Alamosa.”

Southside Rentals and Storage portfolio includes Kiva Apartments, Southside Apartments, Southside Self-Storage, Cotton Grove Storage, and approximately 19 acres of land. Kiva and Southside Apartments include 110 one- and two-bedroom rental apartments. Cottongrove and Southside Storage include 328 self-storage units with seven different unit sizes across the two businesses. CRHDC looks forward to partnering with the community to develop out the vacant land.

Community Resources and Housing Development Corporation has 50 years of experience in community development, and “believes strongly in building communities with access to opportunity, where children can play, families can grow, and individuals can build a future,” noted Alvarado.
