Our precious beautiful mom Cordelia,Cordie Candelaria, on this Sunday, May 16 2021, on your one year memorial anniversary,  since you went home to be with Jesus. Today especially, we will continue to reflect on all our beautiful memories with you and your 82 years of life. Mom we will always love you dearly and miss you greatly. We will see you soon, all in Jesus’ timing. We can’t wait to meet our Jesus and see you again and be with all our love ones. Love always from all you called your babies; your kids Rocky, Della, Joe, your daughter in law Roxie, son in law Rick, grandkids Bernedette, Joey, Toa, Daniele and great grandkids Jette, Mareta, Micah, Olivia, Gigi, Little Richard and Sophia. Celebration of life service will be held on Friday June 25th, 2021 at 10:30 a.m., At the Rock Assembly of God Church 8891 Poze Blvd, in Thornton, Colo. 80229

No grave site burial at this time, it will be held in Louisville Colo. at a later date.

Thank you for your prayers as we reflect on our precious loved one Cordelia Candelaria, as her gentle soul is now rejoicing in the arms of our lord Jesus, no more pain no more sorrow pure peace and joy.

Cordelia Candelaria, 82, of Louisville, Colorado entered into eternal glory with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 16, 2020, at 9:52 am. She passed from this life peacefully at her home with all the love of her family in her precious heart. Mama took on nine years of cancer because she loved life and everything around her. Thank you to everyone that send her cards and phone calls and visited at that time. Cordelia was born August 13, 1937, in Capulin, Colorado. Her devotion to her faith and love for Jesus was evident in the way she lived her life and the way she loved her many family members and friends.

Cordelia was born to the late Selso Locadio and Emilia Marie (Archuleta) Vigil. Born and raised in the San Luis Valley, she always was a very hard worker all through her life including raising her three kids all on her own, also working a lot of the crop fields mainly potatoes in the Valley and even in the Western slope cropping peaches.

The San Luis Valley is truly where her heart loved to be. While she lived in other places such as Boulder, where she retired from Boulder County as an employee specializing in personal care, with other work which included piecework and cleaning of beautiful homes. She took great pride in ironing and pressing clothing for other people and herself. Cordelia returned back to the San Luis Valley where her heart was and spent much valuable time with her father, Selso, both enjoying the senior center and being with friends and family and making lots of crafts, enjoying neighborhood get-together clubs, also where she lived you would find her exercising by walking the beautiful back roads of the San Luis Valley.

After several years she moved back to spend the rest of her life in Louisville (20+years), she loved her little apartment where she lived, she fixed it up with much love so that all would feel welcomed when they visited. She enjoyed being a part of all the functions at the community clubhouse and you would always find her being first to help with all the activities. You can be sure she always was ready to play a game of cards, Skippo, Kings, and Bingo. Also, she was very active at the senior/rec center. Volunteering her time weekly, crocheting hats, gloves, and scarves for cancer patients throughout Boulder county and willing to do anything else that they needed help with also enjoying many concerts and outings with the seniors.

But she never missed an opportunity to take a trip to the valley to visit family and friends. She would be sure to visit with the chance to attend festivals and parades and loved to see the amazing sandhill cranes, which she loved so much and loved to hear them sing as thousands of them flew through the Valley. Cordelia had a large extended family; she was the oldest girl of 12 siblings. She also had an abundant number of friends. She loved to talk, laugh and visit with all of them any chance she could get.

Cordelia loved life and enjoyed many things; but first and foremost was taking care of all of her family and even all of her friends. She also loved hummingbirds, monarch butterflies, traveling (she was always ready and willing to go to any adventure that anyone would ask her to attend with them, she even drove herself a lot of times throughout the states) she enjoyed music and dancing, crocheting, baking, tending to her beautiful roses, irises, four o’clock, hollyhocks and taking lots and lots of photos. She had spent a lot of time taping cassettes and also VHS’s and recording adventures on her camcorder. She was very fashionable and loved her jewelry. She was also a very organized person. She loved trying out the newest technology i.e., small appliances, cameras, cell phones... She also loved home-cooked meals and going out to eat. Mama loved to sing, and she had several songs in writing. She loved the sunshine; when the sun was out it would always make her day. She enjoyed watching her many wind twirlers she had throughout her front and backyard along with watching all the many robins come and go. Cordelia loved to watch her home teams, mainly the Denver Broncos, but she also enjoyed watching all the Colorado Rockies games and the Colorado Buffaloes. She attended a few of the home games for each of them, as well as attending a few games away on some of her travel adventures to California, she even saw a game in LA, California. Mama loved everyone and everything. She loved being a part of all and was very grateful when she could be present at any function. She was very knowledgeable of her family history and even her friend’s family history. A lot of family and friends would often come to her to get much information i.e., names, dates, places... we will all miss being able to do this with her. To be with people and share her life with others gave her so much joy. Cordelia had a heart full of love, compassion, and grace that was felt by everyone who knew her with her full gentle spirit.

Of all that she loved and did in her blessed life, her relationship with Jesus was most important. Cordelia was a faithful follower of Jesus and believer of God. She enjoyed attending church and was devoted to studying the word of God every day. She spent much of her time praying and singing songs to the Lord. She always had scripture and inspirational writings that she wrote posted throughout her home to get her through the day. Her heart’s desire is that her loved ones would come to know her personal Savior, Jesus Christ so that we would all be united again one day in heaven.

Cordelia was preceded in death by her loving parents, her brothers Walter, Ben and Joe Vigil; all her grandparents, all her aunts and uncles and some cousins and some nieces and a nephew, some great nieces and some great nephews. Cordelia is survived by her three loving children: a son, Adolph “Rocky” Gallegos of Longmont, CO; a daughter, Della Marie (Rick) Servantes of Superior, CO; a son, Steve “Joe” (Roxanna) Gallegos of Frederick, CO; her grandchildren: Bernadette (Toa) Sagapolutele of Frederick, CO, Steve “Joe” (Danielle) Gallegos Jr. of Mead, CO, Richard E. Servantes the 1st of Dillon, CO and her beloved great grandchildren: Jette, Mareta, Micah, Olivia, Gianna and Sophia; her brothers, Celso (Christine) Vigil of Las Cruses, NM, Candido (Marlene) Vigil of Farmington, NM, Louis (Mary) Vigil of Farmington, NM; sisters, Cecilia Martinez of Boulder, CO, Louise (late Walt) Sanders of Escondido, CA, Joan (late Sonny) Dominguez of Fort Lupton, CO. Cordelia is also survived by her step-children, who lovingly called her their “bonus” mom; Victor, Corina, Becky and Cecilia, their spouses and children. Cordelia also leaves behind many members of her extended family including nephews, nieces, primos, primas and many friends.
