County commissioners recognize Mental Health Month


The Alamosa County commissioners stand with Clarissa Woodworth of San Luis Valley Behavioral Health after signing a proclamation that declares May as Mental Health Month during their Wednesday meeting.

"One in four people are affected by this every single year," said Woodworth. "Stigma is the biggest reason people often don't get care."

Mental Health Month has been observed in America since 1949.
