Creede Theatre announces ’22 lineup

CREEDE– “Steel Magnolias” and “Always. . . Patsy Cline” are among the offerings for the 2022 indoor season for the Creede Repertory Theatre.

That announcement came Thursday night in a Facebook Live broadcast from Dallas, Tex. where CRT staff and board members were gathered for their annual retreat. Artistic Director John DiAntonio introduced staff who performed mini-vignettes of the 2022 offerings to test attendees about their theatre knowledge.

Among the other plays planned for next year are “Native Gardens” by Karen Zacarias, “The Royale” by Marco Ramirez and “Sherwood: The Adventures of Robin Hood” by Ken Ludwig. In addition, 2022 will see the return of “Boomtown”, CRT’s improv comedy, Young Audience Outreach Tour, “Pants on Fire” and the 20th anniversary of “The KID Show.”

“Always. . . Patsy Cline” was written by Ted Swindley and “Steel Magnolias” by Robert Harling.

Productions are expected to return to CRT’s main stage as well as the Ruth Humphreys Brown theatre. Season flex passes will go on sale on Dec. 3 and single tickets in early January.

Tickets are on sale now for “Jacob Marley’s Christmas Carol” by Tom Mula and directed by Kate Berry which will be performed on Fridays and Saturdays Dec. 3-18 in the “Ruth.” The play will star Brittni Shambaugh Addison, John DiAntonio, Jenni Harbour and Anne F. Butler as Scrooge.
