Crews performing slope repairs on U.S. 160

MINERAL/RIO GRANDE COUNTIES– Work is continuing US Highway 160 through Thursday on US Highway 160, on the east side of Wolf Creek Pass, near the tunnel, mile points 173-175. The four-day road maintenance operations will take place Monday through Thursday (August 23 to 26), from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. while the Colorado Department of Transportation is repairing roadside slopes

 Drivers will encounter brief stops and will proceed through a one-lane alternating traffic work zone guided by flagging personnel. This is a high-volume road, so up to 20-minute delays are anticipated.

A speed reduction of 40 MPH will be in place and drivers should slow down and use extreme caution when approaching and driving through the work zone. Motorists are urged to be aware of crews and heavy equipment.
