CSU Extension offers solar workshop

ALAMOSA — If you’ve ever considered going solar, an upcoming “Know Before You Go (Solar)” workshop for San Luis Valley residents will make that decision easier.

The falling cost of solar, the rising cost of electricity, and financial incentives have made solar electricity a realistic choice for a growing number of homes, but the decision can still be complicated. Colorado State University Extension’s workshop will provide an overview of different solar options, highlight a new loan product for energy measures, and dive into details on the financial costs and benefits of solar photovoltaics (PV). The workshops will include a demonstration of CSU Extension’s new online Solar Calculator.

The workshop is free but requires an RSVP no later than Friday, June 15. The workshop will take place on Tuesday, June 19 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the San Luis Valley Water Conservancy District Meeting Room, 623 4th Street. Cary Weiner, State Energy Specialist with CSU Extension will be presenting.

To reserve a spot, contact the San Luis Valley Area Extension Office at (719) 852-7381.
