Daniels Fund assists facility

ALAMOSA – The City of Alamosa announced on Friday that it has received a $50,000 Daniels Fund grant to support its Multi-Purpose Pavilion/Ice Rink Project.

This landmark facility is the first refrigerated full-size ice rink in the San Luis Valley. “The grant will help ensure consistent ice skating for five months out of the year while also enhancing additional recreation and gathering opportunities year-round,” said City of Alamosa Parks and Recreation Director Andy Rice.

The Daniels Fund, established by cable television pioneer Bill Daniels, is a private charitable foundation dedicated to making life better for the people of Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, and Wyoming through its grants program, scholarship program, and ethics initiative.
