Darlene Ann DeMarce

June 9, 1944 – July 1, 2022 (age 78)

A dedicated mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister, Darlene DeMarce, passed away in this month of parades and patriotism, which she loved. Above all, she loved her family, her friends, and faith. 8 children, 1 daughter-in-law, 2 sons-in-law, 12 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren survive her.  Her son, Bill Simpson, preceded her in death.

Her living children include Mark Simpson, Maggie Thiel, Susan King, Jim Noyce, and Linda Noyce of Wisconsin, Ellen (and Frank) Novotny of Colorado, and Spencer Noyce of California. Darlene lived in Wisconsin all her life until her 60th birthday when she moved to Alamosa.

Regardless of her achievements during her life, what really made Darlene special was her spirit of service to her family, friends, church, and to those in need.

Darlene’s service included membership and activities supporting local Woman’s Citizenship club (part of GFWC), scholarships for ASU and TSJC, Crane Festival, children’s trauma center. Darlene was dedicated to genealogy and family history. She prepared and delivered meals for families in need, supported local organizations such as La Puente, Tu Casa, ALMA, ASU Music, and Friends of the Library.  Even when her circumstances were not abundant, Darlene often placed the needs of others above her own.  She always had good intentions.

Darlene appreciated water aerobics, scrapbooking, card-making, reading, thrifting, board games, the Green Bay Packers, parades, all things growing, music, live performances, and making children happy.  Many of Darlene’s family have served in the US Military, and she was a proud supporter.

May God be with you, until we meet again.
