Darlene Daniels

Longtime Sanford resident Darlene Daniels, 70, passed away peacefully at her home with family around her on Saturday, April 16, 2022. On June 25, 1951, she was born in Alamosa, Colorado to James and Donna Morgan Daniels. She graduated from Sanford High School in 1969 and graduated college with a master’s degree in education at Adams State University in the early 1980s. After, she began teaching for many years. Darlene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She enjoyed working on genealogy and designing and selling jewelry.

Darlene is survived by her son Phillip Daniels, daughter in law Tammy Daniels, granddaughter Cienna Daniels, cousin and caregiver Dorothy Purvis, siblings Lynn (Maureen) Daniels, Tim Daniels, and Scarlett Klein, aunts Illa Williams and Barbara Jean (Ronald) Atwood, nieces Christine Marques, Jaslynn (Michael) Vesuvio, Desiree (Matthew) Maestas, and Ashley (Gregory) Best, and nephew Morgan Daniels. She is survived by numerous friends and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, uncle Eldon (Laura) Morgan, infant uncle Johnny Harold Morgan, Aunt Genevieve (Malcolm) Davis, and Aunt Bertha Lane.

There will be a graveside service on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the Sanford Cemetery and a memorial service on a later date.
