DEL NORTE— During a special meeting on Thursday, Oct. 25, the Del Norte Town Board accepted a resignation letter from Trustee Annette Archuleta.

Though the reasoning behind the resignation is not clear in her letter to the board, Archuleta stated that it was for personal reasons. The board voted unanimously to accept the resignation and will be accepting applications from community members who would like to serve.

The original reason the board was holding the special meeting was to accept grant funding from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs and to award the bid to one of three companies for the town’s sewer project.

Once the board accepted the letter of resignation from Archuleta, they moved on to the bid award which went to a local company out of Alamosa. RMS was awarded the project for the cost of $7,882,495 which fit perfectly into the budget designed by town engineers. The project will begin by the end of November with the lift station being installed.
