Delfina I. Jaquez, 90

Delfina I. Jaquez, 90, of Greeley, Colorado passed away on October 6, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Delfina was born April 3, 1927 in Fort Garland, Colorado, where she was raised by her parents Manuel Sr. and Rosanna (Quintana) Lobato. Delfina attended school in Ft. Garland.

As a young girl, she would help her dad on the farm.  Delfina was a woman of Catholic faith, attending St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ault. She remembers long, long ago that her mother, Rosanna, would tell her about what God’s plan was toward the end.

On November 29, 1945, she married the love of her life, Demetrio Jaquez, in San Luis, Colorado. Delfina was married to Demetrio for 57 loving years. He passed away August of 2002. Together they raised 10 children. She liked to cook and bake. Some of her favorite hobbies included bingo and crochet and had a love for flowers and Novellas.

Delfina is survived by her 10 children; Carla (Steve) Taylor, Vivian (Gary) LaCombe, Micheal (Teresa) Jaquez, Virgil Jaquez, Kenneth (Terry) Jaquez, Sandra Mondragon, Carl (Marianne) Jaquez, Jeanette (Robert) Taylor, Wanda Martinez, and Rosan Ocanas; 24 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; her siblings Nick, Gilbert, and Amos Lobato.

She is preceded in death by her husband; parents; and her siblings Ralph Lobato, Manuel Lobato, Lena Salas, Dora Sanchez, Cora Sanchez, and Mercy Martinez.

A Visitation will be held at the Allnutt Macy Chapel, 702 13th St., Greeley, CO, 80631, on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, from 4-6 P.M. with a Recitation of the Rosary starting at 6:00 P.M.. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M., on Thursday, October 12, 2017, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ault, CO, 267 E. 4th St., Ault, CO, 80610. Interment will be in the Ault Cemetery.
