Delta ends Lady Moose’s season

ALAMOSA – The season came to an end for the Alamosa High School girls soccer team as it was defeated by fourth-ranked Delta 6-0 in the first round of the Class 3A State Tournament Thursday at Delta.

The Lady Panthers led 2-0 at halftime and they scored four goals in the second half. Jessica Black and Alex Hirsch both had two goals and Aylin Bayles and Ashley Pantoja both had one.

The Lady Mean Moose managed only two shots on goal, both of which were stopped by Delta goalkeeper Julia Nelson.

The Lady Panthers put 37 shots on target. Alamosa goalie Emmy Tibbitts had 31 saves.

Alamosa finished the season with eight wins, six losses and two ties. The Lady Mean Moose were the Intermountain League champion with a record of 4-1-1.
