This year's Demolition Derby is going to be one for the record books! With 18 big cars, 26 mini cars and nine pickups, it is one of the largest derby’s seen in Alamosa for a long time. The Derby action will crank up Sunday, June 23 at 4 p.m. with gates opening at 2:30 p.m. The 2019 Alamosa Round-UP Demolition Derby has attracted drivers from as far as Pueblo and Colorado Springs. With over $9,000 in prize money up for grabs, the local drivers will have their hands full defending their titles. This year we have 10 lady drivers in various heats, and two-time champ Nyteeka Chacon will be defending her reign as Derby Champ. There are also quite a few first-time drivers.
