ALAMOSA — Diane Josephine Maes, 85, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2020 at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical with her loving son Karim by her side. Diane came into the world on January 17, 1935 in Alamosa, Colorado, the daughter of Rose Smith and Tony Maes. She worked as a personal care provider for many years, she loved the interaction and time she got to spend with her clients. Diane enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, She could be seen riding her pink bicycle around Alamosa and she was an avid Denver Broncos fan. Diane’s greatest joy in life came from the time she spent with her family and grandchildren.
She will live on through her son Mourad Karim Maes of Alamosa, CO; grandson Steven Anderson, great granddaughter Katrina both of Alamosa, grandchildren Devin Romero(Amber) great grandchildren Ava and Aly Romero all of La Jara, great granddaughter Savannah Romero (Jacob Ramirez); great grandchildren Jacey and Levi of Monte Vista, sisters Sue Gallegos and Linda Smith both of Alamosa, CO; brother Harold (Barbara) Maes of Layton, Utah, and sister-in-law Vivian Maes of Chino, Calif. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents Tony Maes, and Rose Smith, brothers Tony and Ted Maes, daughter Kim Romero and son Lance Clark.
