Dick Brumfield, 78

Dick Brumfield, 78, passed away at home Monday March 25, 2019, surrounded by his family. Dick married the love of his life, June, on September 2. 1962, in La Veda, CO, and spent 57 years in love. Dick graduated from the University of Denver and returned to Monte Vista where he worked for Schall Chemical Supply.  He was known throughout the agricultural community in the San Luis Valley and across the country.  Following retirement, he enjoyed traveling with his family and hunting with his two sons, Scott and Greg.  He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing which he shared through his involvement in the Rocky Mountain Bighorn Society. His passion for classic cars and music were only matched by a good breakfast at the Campus Café with his friends. Dick adored spending time with his family and friends and will be deeply missed by all that knew him.

Dick was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Mildred Brumfield.  He is survived by his wonderful wife June; sons Scott (Carrie) Brumfield of Monte Vista and Greg (Debbie) Brumfield of Grand Junction; his sister Katherine (Ted) Brumfield Boyer of Germantown, TN; his sister-in-law Glenda Bedoka of Chino Hills, CA; brother-in-law Mike Sanner of Monte Vista; and his beloved dog Mutt.

Services will be held at Rogers Family Mortuary in Monte Vista on April 16 at 10:00 am.
