ALAMOSA — On Saturday, January 12th and 19th respectively Chili’s Restaurant and Nino’s Restaurant in Alamosa donated lunches for the disabled veterans participating in fly tying and rod building classes. Disabled veterans enjoyed both lunches immensely and wish to thank those restaurants for their support.  Disabled veterans are all from here in the Valley.

Project Healing Waters is a non-profit organization focused entirely on assisting in the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled veterans and active duty servicemen through education and outings involving fly fishing.  During the winter months participating veterans are given classes (therapeutic activities) on fly tying and rod building.  During the spring and summer, they are taught to fly fish during day trips to local rivers and lakes.

There is no cost to the veteran for these activities.  All the funds for these projects are raised strictly from private donations.

If there are other restaurants here in the Valley that wish to join these efforts to help local disabled veterans, it would be warmly welcomed.
