Donald Gene Chrisman

Donald Gene Chrisman 83, passed away July 12, 2021 in Colorado Springs, Colo. He was born on October 14, 1937 in Alamosa, Colo. to Russell and Dorothy Chrisman.

He graduated from Hooper High school  as a Bulldog in 1956 and promptly joined the United States Navy. He served on the USS Hornet and was honorably discharged on May 12, 1960.

He returned to Colorado where he met the love of his life Carolyn Strauser. They married on May 17, 1961 and spent 54 years together before her death in 2015. Gene was a jack of all trades including farming/reaching, construction and agriculture. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t fix. His favorite job however, was running a little tourist shop in Lincoln, NM where he met and talked to people from all over the world.

He is proceeded in death by his wife Carolyn. His parents Russell and Dorothy and brothers Richard and Douglas. He is survived by his older brother Robert, his daughter Cassandra (Candy). His daughter  Anna, her husband Sandrew and their children Cameron and Cassandra (Casey). His son Don, his wife Alisa and their children Rachel, Zachary and his wife Jessica.

Gene was a loving, kind man and a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and friend. He will be dearly missed. Services will be held at a later date.
