Donna K's Cat Tale: How about a kitten for Christmas?

VALLEY — Season’s greetings to all of the cat lovers in the San Luis Valley. As always, thanks to all of the people who have donated cat food, supplies, money for veterinarian services and for time and efforts which are needed to keep our feral and abandoned cats safe, well fed and spayed and neutered.

Are you looking for a very special Christmas gift? I have five to nine 8-week-old kittens and several adult cats. All of them are litter box trained and very affectionate. They go in pairs and are free to good homes.

With winter coming we need to provide safe “warm” structures for the feral and abandoned cats. I have Styrofoam containers with insulation and fresh, clean, certified straw for bedding. They are covered with tarps and pallets to keep them dry. Call me if you know of cats without cover.

The Colorado Animal Welfare League came to the Valley earlier this month with their “Spay Mobile.” They first came to Center, then to Antonito. I wasn’t able to get an exact number of animals that were spayed or neutered. I’ll try to get an exact number from Lisa with my next Cat Tales.

Here’s wishing you the happiest of holidays and may God bless you!
