Donna K’S Cat Tales: Kitty condos keep cats warm in winter

As always I’d like to thank all of the folks that so generously donate the money, time and contributions to help all of the cats and kittens in the San Luis Valley that are in need of our help. Marge, with CATS ALIVE works tirelessly seven days a week to give food, water, and supplies to all of the cats in need to keep them safe and healthy. Together we build the “kitty condos” for cats outside the city limits and surrounding areas to give them shelter as the cold weather approaches. We make the “ condo” with a wooden pallet on the ground, place an insulated Styrofoam ® container inside a plastic box and put certified straw as bedding and a tarp on the top to keep them waterproof. These “condos” keep them warm, dry and safe from predators.

I have several baby kittens that need homes. A friend of ours found them in an abandoned building. They were very hungry and mama cat was MIA. They are about 5 weeks old and go together in pairs. They are healthy, eating on their own, and litter box trained. If you would like two kittens call me at 719-589-5952. (I also get a lot of calls of other people who have rescued kittens.)

We all would like to see more clinics that would come to the Valley to spay and neuter cats. If you are in need of these services there is a low cost grant available in Monte Vista. Call me for more information.

I’ll close with this from this chapter of 1st Corinthians: This love of which I speak is slow to lose patience. It looks for a way of being constructive. It is not possessive. It is neither anxious to impress nor does it cherish inflated ideas of its own importance. Love has good manners and does not pursue selfish advantage. It is not touchy. It does not keep account of evil nor gloat over the wickedness of other people. On the contrary it is with all good men where truth prevails. Love knows no limit to its endurance no end to its trust no fading to its hope. IT IS, IN FACT THE ONE THING THAT WILL STAND WHEN ALL ELSE HAS FALLEN.

Until next time GOD BLESS YOU!

Donna K.
