DEL NORTE — Del Norte resident Donovan Earl Toews, 63, died January 4, 2021, at his home near Del Norte, surrounded by his loving family.

Don was born in Three Hills, Alberta, Canada on March 20, 1957, the loving son to Milton and Margaret (Penner) Toews. He married the love of his life, Donna Marie Boehs on July 9, 1978, in Goltry, Oklahoma.

Don worked for many years in oilfield and industrial sales and business management. He loved traveling and had visited more than 30 countries. His greatest love was making a connection with people and trying to make a positive difference in people’s lives. He enjoyed projects, business relationships, and loved working together with his friends/employees at Power Zone Equipment.

He is survived by his wife Donna; his children, sons Andrew & Angela Toews, Trevor & Teresa Toews, daughter LaTayne & Verlyn Boese, sons Robert & Shayla Toews and Carson & Camilla Toews; sixteen grandchildren; his father-in-law Robert Boehs of Helena, Oklahoma; his siblings, brother Randy & Darlene Toews of Abbotsford, B.C., Canada, sisters Geneva & Doug Boehs of Helena, Oklahoma, Andre Kuepfer, Eileen & Wes Schmidt and brother Bernie & Angie Toews, all of Neilburg, Saskatchewan, Canada; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and a host of friends.

Don is preceded in death by his parents and his mother-in-law Joanne Boehs.

A Memory Service will be held Thursday, January 7, 2021, from 7:00-9:00 p.m. and a Funeral Service Friday, January 8, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. all at the High Valley Mennonite Church. Interment will follow service in the Monte Vista Cemetery.
