Doug Harris, 62

DOUG HARRIS, 62, died unexpectedly from a massive heart attack on Monday, August 21st, 2017. Born Harold Douglas Harris III, June 7th, 1955, to Harold and Eunice Harris in Fort Benning, Georgia.  Growing up in a military family, Doug lived in many states and across seas as a child.  He graduated from Alamosa High School, class of 1973, served honorably in the Navy before attending Adams State College, then Western State College in Gunnison, Colorado; where he was a member of TKE, and received Bachelor of Arts Degree in Accounting.   Doug worked for Stapleton Airport in Denver, Colorado and was instrumental in the strategic planning for the move to Denver International Airport, where he was Aviation Materials Administrator for The City and County of Denver.   Moving from Prescott Arizona to Truth or Consequences where he worked at O’Reilly’s and Sierra Vista Hospital, meeting numerous friends and co-workers.

Doug is survived by his loving wife, Judy Mae Trujillo Harris, mother Eunice Harris, siblings Charlie Harris (Wife Debbie, children Tim and Jay), Kay Risdahl (children Katie & Christi Risdal), son Corey Harris (wife Rachel), daughter Holly D. Harris;  Heather Kiesling (Husband Doc, Grandchildren Taylor and Kolby), Shaun Smith (Wife Lindsey, Grandchildren Hannah and Hayden), extended family and wonderful friends. Prior to Doug’s death, he and his wife were able to find a puppy at the Animal Shelter, named her Trixie and she has become a constant companion and family member.  Doug was preceded in death by his father, Harold D. Harris Jr. 

Per Doug’s wishes there will be no formal services held.  A Special thank you to 911, the Paramedics and responding units, Sierra Vista Hospital Staff, Helicopter Staff, Mountain View Hospital, and the Sierra County Sheriff’s Office; for their care and response.
