Edward “Eddie” Lopez

ALAMOSA — Edward “Eddie” Lopez, 88, of Alamosa, 4/3/21 blast off to Heaven to be with his Lord Jesus Christ.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Joan L. Lopez; son, Kenneth Edward Lopez; parents, Albert and Sarah Lopez; brother Bonney Lopez; sister Gloria Gonzalez; great-granddaughter Avery Jade Roberts.

He is survived by his children, Debra (Larry) Romero of Pueblo, Cindy Roberts of Pueblo West, Shelley (Joseph) Archuleta of Pueblo and Natalie (Mark) Lucero of Alamosa; 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren.

Eddie was well known throughout the entire San Luis Valley for his many ventures and was a pillar to his community. He owned several apartment buildings in the Alamosa Community and was the owner of Eddie’s Cigarette’s Vending and Wholesale Business. He was also a well-known Insurance Broker with many Insurance Companies. Eddie was an appointed Trustee of the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley Colorado by Governor Vanderhof. He was also a Grand Knight for the Alamosa Knights of Columbus and Senator for the J.C’s of Alamosa.

Eddie always enjoyed the many vacations he took with his wife Joan to Mexico and many other places. His family meant everything to him, and he was happiest when he was with them.

All his life Eddie learned, loved, and laughed with all his heart. He will be forever loved and deeply missed by all those he leaves behind to cherish his memory. Rosary, 9:30 am followed by Mass of Resurrection, 10:00 am, Friday, Sacred Heart Church, Alamosa, Colorado. Interment will follow, Alamosa Cemetery.
