San Luis resident Elias B. "Baldy" Garcia, 85, passed away Feb. 28, 2023, with his loving family by his side. Elias was born on Oct. 15, 1937, in San Acacio, Colo., the beloved son of Benjamin Garcia and Eduarda Bedan Garcia.

Elias was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He liked going fishing, hunting and cutting hair in his shop. He will be dearly missed by all those who knew him and whose lives he touched in one way or another.

Survivors include his wife Geraldine Garcia of Colorado Springs, Colo.; son Rickie (Kathy) Garcia of Pueblo, Colo.; daughters Annie, Diana, daughter-in-law Kathy, Ruth, Renee (Jimmy), Juanita (Karl), sisters Julia, Lizida, Margie, brother Richard (Karen) Garcia of San Luis, Colo. He is also survived by many other extended family members and friends.

Elias was preceded in death by his parents, son Jerry Garcia, daughters Marlene, Debbie and one grandson Dominic. His legacy will be continued with the honor and loving memories of the wonderful life he lived.

Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Saturday, March 11, 2023, at 10 a.m., Mass of the Resurrection will follow at 10:30 a.m., both are at Sangre De Cristo Catholic Church in San Luis. Interment will be held at the San Acacio Cemetery with full military honors.
