Ellen N. Trujillo Villarreal

Antonito resident Ellen N. Trujillo Villarreal, 74, passed away December 12, 2017 at her home with her loving family by her side. Ellen was born on April 3, 1943 in San Miguel, New Mexico, the daughter of Juan F. Trujillo and Refujio Sisneros Trujillo. Ellen dedicated her life to caring for her husband, children, family and friends. Some of her hobbies included going to bingo, gambling, and spending as much time as possible with her family, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and her dog Pookey. She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother and friend to all and will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her daughters Melanie (Ruben D.) George Hernandez of Brighton, CO; Dayana (Steven) George-Lucero of Albuquerque, NM; Roberta (Matthew) Gallegos-Moser of Billings, MT; Sarah Gallegos of Greeley, CO; Terry (Kirk) Villarreal-Golba of Grand Junction, CO; Cheryl (Dale) Villarreal-Hall of North Platte, NE; sons Olivio (Ronda) Duran of Thornton, CO; Jose (Marquita) Villarreal of Farmington, NM; 22 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and one brother Willy Joe (Isabelle) Trujillo of Minturn, CO. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ellen was preceded in death by her parents Juan and Refujio Trujillo, beloved husband Jose “Gabby” Villarreal, sons Richard George, Anthony Villarreal, sisters Matilda Vigil, Evangeline Trujillo, grandchildren Aimee Villarreal, Mario Villarreal, Elias Lucero, Olivio Duran and Angel Duran.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 9:00 AM also at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Conejos. Interment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Viewing and visitation will be held on Saturday from 1-5 PM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Antonito. The care of arrangements have been entrusted to Romero Funeral Home of Antonito.
