Emma Wilma Flavin

MOSCA — Mosca resident Emma Wilma Flavin, 81, passed away on September 13, 2020, at the San Luis Valley Regional Medical Center with her loving family by her side. Emma was born on September 27, 1938, in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of John Bowman and Elsie Lighthart Bowman. Emma will always be remembered for her kind, loving and compassionate nature as well as her fantastic sense of humor. She enjoyed going gambling, playing the slot machines, going fishing and playing cards, she was the Rummy champion.  She was an animal lover and loved to spend time with her sons and grandchildren.

She will live on through her sons Steven Flavin of Mosca, CO; John (Susan) Flavin of Perryton, TX; grandchildren John Scott, Matthew, Nicholas and Brianna; sister-in-law Katherine Bowman of South Carolina. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Emma was preceded in death by her parents John and Elsie Bowman, husband Richard Flavin, brother Kenneth Bowman as well as many brothers-in-law.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020, at 10:00 AM at the Romero Funeral Chapel in Alamosa. Interment will follow at the Alamosa Cemetery.
