Enjoy holiday bazaars in the San Luis Valley

VALLEY — It’s that time of year when bazaar, craft and bake sales offer unique and delectable gifts for the holidays. Here are some of the upcoming bazaars in the San Luis Valley:

November 16-17

ALAMOSA — The fourteenth Annual Wild Roses Christmas Bazaar will be held on November 16th and 17th.  Over 18 crafters will be showing their wares at Wild Roses at 511 Main Street in downtown Alamosa.  Hours for the bazaar will be 10-5 on Friday and 9-4 on Saturday. 

Santa will be making a special appearance on both days.  Christmas photo cards will be available along with all the other crafters.  Call 719 589 2888 for more information.

Friday, November 16

ALAMOSA — Alamosa Christian Reformed Church Bazaar will be held on Friday, November 16, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, November 17, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Waverly Youth and Community Center, 1836 Road 10 South, Alamosa.  For directions or information, call 589-2072 or 589-2001.

Saturday, Nov. 17

ALAMOSA — First Christian Church’s 18th Annual Craft and Bake Sale will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 518 First Street, Alamosa, with baked items great for the holidays (pies, cookies, breads) and handcrafted items such as jewelry, woodcraft and clothing. MONTE VISTA — Tri County Senior Center, 311 Washington St., in Monte Vista will host a holiday bazaar on November 17 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The bazaar will include a bake sale, baked potato bar, and hand crafted items. Call 719-852-5778 for more information. A raffle will be held at noon on Nov. 17. Tickets are $2 each or three for $5.

DEL NORTE— The Rio Grande County Museum hosts an inaugural free admission “Gateway to the Holidays” event on Saturday, Nov. 17, at 7 p.m. at the museum featuring ethnic holiday goodies, music by local artists and opportunity to purchase unique holiday items from the museum gift shop.

Saturday, Dec. 1

ALAMOSA — Alamosa seniors will host breakfast, silent auction, raffle and plenty of items for sale during its holiday sale on Saturday, Dec. 1 at the senior center, 92 Colorado in Alamosa adjacent to Cole Park.

Breakfast begins at 8 a.m. and includes burritos with red or green chili, coffee, juice, milk, tea and hot chocolate for $7/person. Beta Sigma Phi will be donating cinnamon rolls for sale at $2 each.

Raffle items include an original Steve Quiller Framed Etching, Handmade Quilt (Caffeine Frenzy) by Rhonda Borders, $50 City Market Card, $50 Amazon Card and several smaller items. Tickets are 5 for $10 or 1 for $3. Please drop to purchase some.

Saturday, Dec. 8

ALAMOSA — The Annual Villa Mall HobbyTown Holiday Craft Fair will be held Saturday, December 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 3211 Main Street, Alamosa. Enjoy handcrafted gifts, jewelry, woodworking and local crafts and visit local micro business people.

Vendor spaces are available. Spaces are allocated based on date of reservation and payment. To get a registration form, simply pick one up at HobbyTown or email Tammy at [email protected]

MONTE VISTA — Enjoy the “mall” Christmas experience without leaving the San Luis Valley. The One Stop Christmas Shop event will be held on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ski High Complex, 2389 Sherman Ave, Monte Vista. Come get your Christmas shopping done in one spot. There will be tons of local vendor booths including handmade crafts, goodies, and direct sales. Santa will also be there from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
