Ernest Rod Mesa

Longtime resident Ernest Rod Mesa, gained his angel wings on December 13, 2021 after his battle with COVID-19 and pneumonia. Ernest was born on June 20, 1965 in Alamosa, Colorado, the beloved son of Ernest Mesa Sr., and Virginia Cordova Mesa. He was united in marriage to the love of his life Rose Segura Mesa and the two shared a long and loving union until his passing. Ernest was well known in the community from the work he did with Alcon Construction for 37 years. He was a foreman for many years and ran his crew and they specialized in laying concrete. He was a family man, anyone that knew him knew he devoted himself to being there for his family and loved spending as much time with them and his wife. On his free time he enjoyed watching football, he was an avid Denver Broncos fan. He also liked to do remodeling, having BBQ with his family, and he enjoyed his star bucks dates with Amika. He was so kind, compassionate and loving and he will be dearly missed.

Survivors include his wife Rose Mesa of Alamosa, CO; daughters Tanya (Moses) Martinez, Jammie (bobby) Martinez, Amika Martinez all of Alamosa, CO; son Max (Tracy) Gallegos of Colorado Springs, CO; 13 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Ernest was preceded in death by his parents Ernest and Virginia Mesa, daughter Doreen Gallegos, grandchildren Serena Sena-Martinez, Salamon Martinez, and one brother Gary Mesa.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, December 18, 2021 at 1:00 PM at the Door Christian Fellowship Church in Alamosa. Cremation will follow and inurnment will be held at a later date. To leave online condolences please visit romerofuneralhomes.com.
