Felix H. Gonzales, 88 years old was born on 6/21/1933 in Tres Piedras, New Mexico and passed away on 11/23/2021 at the Veterans Medical Center in Denver, Colorado. He was born to Maclovio and Clara Gonzales. He was married to Loretta M. Gonzales for 56 years. She preceded him in death ten years ago.
He was a USMC veteran of the Korean War, where he received medals of valor for his service. He was awarded the Silver Star and Purple Heart medals. He was an educator for over 40 years. He was a teacher, principal and administrator in Southern Colorado, and Northern New Mexico. He inspired many people to pursue careers in education and administration.
He is survived by his sister Christine Juveland, seven children, Dr. Felix E. Gonzales, Clara Espinoza (Ruben), Emily Gonzales, Christine Armijo (Sam), Denise Gonzales, Elizabeth Gonzales (Anthony), and Retired USMC Major John Gonzales (Rose Marie). He had 14 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by his parents: Maclovio & Clara Gonzales, brothers: Maclovio, Gilbert, Edward, Joe and sisters: Emma, Emily, Dora, Maude and Helen.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, spending quality time with his family and going on daily adventures. Services are pending.
