Fernando Leroy Rivera was born in Romeo, Colo. on Dec. 15, 1943 and died on Feb. 13, 2017 in Seattle, Wash. He was born to Fernando and Emma Rivera.

Survivors are: his mother Emma; siblings Ruben of Calif., Reginaldo Rivera, Utah, Patricia Byerley, Calif., Ernest Rivera, Utah, Ronald Rivera, Alamosa, Co., Donald Rivera, Utah, Mary Ann Rodriguez, Utah, Virginia Trujillo, Denver, Co.; children Claudine Martinez, New Mexico, Christopher & Tracy Rivera, Canada, Derick Rivera, Seattle, Wash., Damian (Laura) Rivera, Seattle, Wash., 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren.

Fernando loved to play his guitar. He was a mechanic. He loved to go fishing and traveling from Colorado to Seattle, Canada and New Mexico to see his children.

He was preceded in death by his father Fernando, grandparents Ruben and Virginia Rivera, daughter Jenepher, one infant granddaughter, stepfather Mike Quintana.

A memorial service will be held on July 1st at 12 p.m. A Mass will be held on July 5 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Jerome. Burial will follow after Mass at the Veterans Center in Monte Vista, Colo.
