Festival begins in San Luis

SAN LUIS — Celebrated at the end of July each year to honor patron saints, the Santa Ana y Santiago Fiesta welcomes residents and visitors this weekend to the town of San Luis.

The historic Sangré de Cristo Parish sponsors the festival, which brings many former San Luis residents back home for the celebration. The town has been celebrating this event for more than 100 years. Parades, horses, music, vendors and church events take place during this annual weekend festival.

Following is the schedule for the Fiesta de Santiago y Santa Ana 2018

Friday, July 27

5:30 p.m. — Fiesta Queen Pageant at Sangre de Cristo Heritage Center Theater

7-9 p.m. — Friday Night Kickoff in San Luis Community Park

Saturday, July 28

10 a.m. — Fiesta de Santiago y Santa Ana Parade down Main Street 

11 a.m.-4 p.m. — Santa Ana Bazaar in the Museum Courtyard with Booths & Music

12-4 p.m. — Move Mountains Youth Project at Town Hall

6 p.m.-12 a.m. — Free live music block party at town hall

6 p.m.-12 a.m. — Beer garden at Piccadilly’s

Sunday, July 29

7 a.m. — Stations of the Cross 10K Run starting at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church

10 a.m. — Fiesta de Santiago y Santa Ana Parade down Main Street

11 a.m. — Mariachi Mass at El Convento

12-4 p.m. — Food & musical entertainment after Mass
