Fidella Maria Arellano

CENTER — Fidella Maria Arellano, 91, went to her eternal rest peacefully on October 15, 2020. Fidella came into the world on March 10, 1929, in La Garita, Colorado, the daughter of Carlos and Rosa Valencia.  She was a kind and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Fidella enjoyed spending time with her family, visiting with her special friend Rumalda, embroidering, and cooking. She made the best red chile, fried potatoes, and beans and enjoyed serving it to her family at Sunday dinners. She always had a fresh pot of coffee brewing for family and friends. Fidella was devoted to her faith and was always praying. She prayed the rosary every day and would welcome anyone to watch daily Mass with her. She was also a proud member of the Holy Family in Center. She will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her daughters Lillian (Lloyd) Garcia, Carolee Garcia both of Center, CO; sons Joe Leroy (Faye) Arellano of Ft. Collins, CO; Arthur (Jeanette “Nena”)Arellano, Charles (Marleen) Arellano both of Center, CO; 8 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, sister Sharon Olivas of Aurora, CO; brother Isidro Valencia of Center, CO. She is also survived by brothers and sister-in-laws Josephine Valdez, Alice Gallegos, Walter (Bridget) Arellano, Virginia Quintana, Roberta (Wilfred) Espinoza, Anthony (Rose) Arellano, Alex Valdez, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Fidella was preceded in death by her parents Carlos and Rosa Valencia, husband Abode “Buddy” Arellano, infant son Sammy, sisters Nena (Billy) Serna, in-laws Jose and Presciliana Arellano, Dave (Elsie) Arellano, Leonard Valdez, Fred (Barbara) Arellano, Herman Gallegos, Bob Quintana, Ann Valdez, Karen Valencia, Eddie Salazar, great-grandchildren Angel Arellano, Jordan Justice Busolo, baby Walker, and baby Garcia.

A private family Vigil with Recitation of the Rosary and Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Francis Jerome Church in Center, CO with internment at La Garita Cemetery.
