ALAMOSA — First Southwest Bank (FSWB) recently announced that Yuri Cendejas (pronounced “Yudi”) has been promoted to Regional Branch Manager based in Alamosa.

In this capacity, she will be overseeing the retail operations of the Alamosa, Center and Saguache branches. Cendejas began working with First Southwest Bank in November 2022 as Assistant Branch Manager building on 22 prior years’ experience in banking.

Cendejas moved to Center in 1996. After starting her family, she began her banking career as a part-time teller with Vectra Bank.

“We’re pleased to benefit from Yuri’s prior branch manager experience working at both Aventa Credit Union in Center and San Luis Valley Federal Bank in Alamosa,” said Isaiah Padilla, Branch Services Director.

Reflecting on her promotion, Cendejas said, “I’m excited to be back in the banking industry — back to where I started my career — and with such a unique bank.”

First Southwest Bank is a locally owned, independent community bank, and one of two Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) banks in Colorado.

The bank’s emphasis on community and economic development is important to her.

Though Cendajas’ office is in Alamosa, she will work with FSWB’s branches in Center and Saguache, as well, and hopes to continue improving the bank’s customer service by supporting staff.

“I want to support my team by giving them the resources they need and empowering them to perform their jobs with confidence,” said Cendejas.

Cendejas has been working on building her own house for the past year. She is also passionate about her three daughters (ages 24, 20, and 12) and loves to watch their sporting events.
