ANTONITO — Flora Gallegos 97 of Antonito, CO passed away on June 24, 2020.

She was preceded in death by her husband [of 68 years] Christopher 0. Gallegos, Parents Alfonso and Pauline Lopez, Brother Gilbert Lopez (Mila), and Grand-parents Luis D. and Sara Lopez, Regino and Anastasia Valdez.

She is survived by her Daughter Christine Martinez (Andy), Son Cenobio Gallegos (Cindy), Daughter Martha Montoya (Ted), and Son Lawrence Gallegos (Julie). Grandchildren Monica Martinez (Richard Jackson), Orlando Martinez (Jennifer), Sara Martinez, Irene Martinez, Anna Cordova (Norman), Melissa Glorioso (Tom), Lacey Montoya, Isabel Gallegos, and Carmen Gallegos. Great Grandchildren Elizabeth Martinez, Michelle Martinez, Christopher Martinez, Charlotte Martinez, Brooke Martinez, Javier Martinez, Giavani Cordova, Nicolas Martinez, Alianna Glorioso, Elias Glorioso, and Emilia Glorioso.

Flora was a wonderful, devoted wife and mother. During the late 1940s Mom went to college at Adams State in Alamosa and taught school in a little 3 room school in the valley. In the early 1970s, Flora went back to college and started teaching with the head start program in Taos, NM. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Highlands University in Las Vegas New Mexico in 1977. She taught second grade with the Taos school district until she retired. Private family services will be held. Interment will be at the Los Cerritos Cemetery.
