San Luis Resident Flora M. Rodriguez, 79, passed away June 5, 2017 at Penrose Hospital under Pikes Peak Hospice Care with her loving family by her side. Flora was born on January 23, 1938 in San Luis, Colorado, the daughter of Celso Maestas and Soraida Vialpando Maestas. Flora was an exceptional mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, cousin and friend who enjoyed cooking, going gambling and to bingo, and spending as much time as she could with her family and friends.

Survivors include her daughter Carolyn Rodriguez of Colorado Springs, CO; son Gerald (Beverly) Rodriguez of San Luis, CO; grandchildren Gerald Rodriguez Jr., (Jane); Justina (Marcellino) Fresquez, Reyna Rodriguez, Gerica Rodriguez, Diego Rodriguez all of San Luis, CO; four great-grandchildren Gerald Rodriguez III, Sean Rodriguez, Aaliyah Fresquez, Juanito Rodriguez all of San Luis, CO; sisters Martha (Dave) McClure, Josie Maestas, Edna (Felipe) Mondragon all of Colorado Springs, CO; brothers Raymond (Marilyn) Maestas, Bobby Maestas both of San Luis, CO. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Flora was preceded in death by her parents Celso and Soraida Maestas and one son Randy Rodriguez.

A Vigil Service with Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Friday, June 9, 2017 at 7:00 PM at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Chama, Colorado. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2017 at 12:00 PM also at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Chama. Interment will follow at the Chama Cemetery in Chama, Colorado. The care of arrangements have been trusted to the care of Romero Funeral Home of San Luis.
