Food packages available

DEL NORTE — The Commodity Supplemental Food Program works to improve the health of low-income persons at least 60 years of age by supplementing their diets with nutritious USDA Foods.

Individuals must be at or below 130% of the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines to qualify.

Food packages include a variety of foods, such as nonfat dry milk, UHT 1 % low fat milk, juice, farina, oats, ready-to-eat cereal, rice, pasta, peanut butter, dry beans, canned meat, poultry, or fish, and canned fruits and vegetables.

This food box is free to those who meet the income guidelines.

Costilla County Commodity Program will be in Del Norte on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at the Annex Building next to the Courthouse 6th Street, Del Norte from 9 a.m. to 10:30 am.

Monte Vista at the Calvary Baptist Church, 2160 Sherman Ave. on Jan. 15 from 12:30- 3:30pm.
