Friends of Library sales resume Spines

ALAMOSA — After a long and not-so-cold winter, the Friends of the Alamosa Library will hold their first used book sale of the season on Saturday, May 5th, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., weather permitting, at Spines. Spines is located off the alley just north of the Alamosa Post Office and west of the skate park.

The Friends would like to thank all community members who donated books over the winter. All our shelves have been cleaned and restocked, and the warehouse is overflowing. Prices remain very low for good reading material in multiple categories. New donations especially include a large number of music CDs and a 54 volume set of Zane Grey westerns.

Those who show their Friends of the Library membership card receive a 20 percent discount. Profits from sales support the library, the Little Free Libraries, Story Walk and other literacy programs. Donations of books and plastic bags may be brought to Spines on the day of the sale or to the Library at other times.

The Friends are in need of volunteers for tasks within the library itself as well as at Spines. Please contact Allyn Lewis at 588-9410 if you would like to help out or Rhonda Borders at 580-2010 for sale and donation information.
