ALAMOSA — The Alamosa Rotary Club is pleased to announce that Israel Garcia, director of community education for La Puente Home, will speak on Monday November 12th at noon at Juanito’s Restaurant, 1019 6th Street.

Israel Garcia is the director of community education for La Puente Home. La Puente Home endeavors to meet immediate needs and to empower people to live independently and with dignity. La Puente Home is a non-profit organization in the San Luis Valley providing emergency shelter, food assistance, transitional housing, self-sufficiency services, homeless prevention, community outreach services, and job readiness training for the homeless and community members in crisis. 

In honor of Veterans Day Israel will detail La Puente’s services provided to veterans. He will also discuss volunteer opportunities, such as the Food Bank of the San Luis Valley Great Thanksgiving Giveaway  November 17th.
