Gerald G. Sisneros (Cookieman)

ANTONITO — Gerald G. Sisneros (Cookieman) was born on March 20, 1954 to the late Solidea Sisneros (Duran) and Jose Fortunato Sisneros and passed away on November 26, 2020.  Gerald was preceded in death by his sister Loyda Martinez.  Gerald leaves behind his wife, Theresa Sisneros; loving children, Melissa Sisneros (Gerald Lobato), Gerald Sisneros Jr. (Jennifer Martinez), Airyanna Sisneros, Danielle Sisneros, Kyle Sisneros; step-children Antonia (Joseph) Romero, S. Loyola Abeyta (Johan Vasquez); precious grandchildren Jakob Garcia, Teresa Romero, Estrella Abeyta, Jose Romero, Braelyn Stone, Roquel Romero; siblings Lena Conway, Bertha Montoya, Michael (Naomie) Sisneros, Sherry Duran (Troy), Gloria Duran, Anthony J. (Cindy) Marquez, Rick Duran; as well as many beloved and loving nieces and nephews, family, and friends.

Gerald graduated from Antonito High School in 1973.  Gerald was a man of many talents. He was an artist, pitmaster, cook, fisherman, mechanic, carpenter, and enjoyed many other activities.  He was always willing to lend a hand and share his talents with others.  Gerald retired from Adams State University in 2008 where he worked in facility management.  Gerald was always interested in his community and at the time of his death Gerald served on the Board of Trustees for the Town of Antonito, Colorado.  Gerald enjoyed a simple life with his family and friends.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. 

To avoid COVID restrictions services will be held in July 2021.  A rosary will be held on July 9, 2021 at 7 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Conejos, Colorado and a funeral mass on July 10, 2021 at 10 a.m.  At this time more specific arrangements are being made, and will be announced at a later date.  We anticipate many family members and friends will be able to attend and help us celebrate Gerald’s life.
