Alamosa resident Gilbert Alfred Ibarra, 60, went home to be with the Lord on May 13, 2021 at the Conejos County Hospital with his loving family by his side. Gilbert was welcomed into the world on May 18, 1960 in Cerrieo, New Mexico, the son of Elsie Padilla. Gilbert was a kind and loving son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend who enjoyed mechanics, fishing, watching football, listening to Spanish music, doing woodwork and spending time with family.

Survivors include his mother Elsie Padilla of Alamosa, CO; sister Veronica (Dawayne) Weaver of Blackhawk, CO; brother Adam Modesto Lucero (Clista Brown)of Alamosa, CO; niece Shania Y. Gonzales of Blackhawk, CO; Aubrie Lucero of Alamosa, CO; Alycia (Johnathan) Lucero McDermott of Ft. Carson, CO; nephews Josh Gonzales, Darian Lucero both of Alamosa, CO; Jonathan Gonzales of Denver, CO. He is also survived by many friends.

Gilbert was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Jake and Carolina Archuleta, uncles Abel Archuleta and Randy Archuleta.
