Governor Polis proclaims today as Ruth Heide Day
DENVER– District 35 State Senator Larry Crowder (R) announced Friday that Colorado Governor Jared Polis has declared today, March 30, as Ruth Heide Day. Signed by both Gov. Polis and Sen. Crowder, the proclamation reads:
WHEREAS, Ruth Heide has had a dedicated career of 33 years with the Alamosa Courier, 11 years of which were spent as the Courier’s editor; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Heide’s commitment to the highest standards of journalism is only seconded by her strong devotion to her faith, her community, and the issues that are important to the entire San Luis Valley; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Heide established herself as one of the most reliable voices in the San Luis Valley on stories ranging from water to education, and good governance to healthcare; and
WHEREAS, the people of the San Luis Valley, and the entire State of Colorado, thank Ruth Heide for her strong commitment to her community and the people who call it home; and
WHEREAS, the community that Ruth Heide has loved and supported for so long is standing alongside her and her family; and
WHEREAS, Ruth Heide has spent her career in service to others and the truth, and today we thank her for that service and wish her peace and happiness in the years ahead.
Therefore, I, Jared Polis, Governor of the State of Colorado, do hereby proclaim March 30th, 2019 as RUTH HEIDE DAY in the State of Colorado.
