PUEBLO — Gov. John Hickenlooper on May 23 visited a Pueblo fire station to sign HB18-1423, Rep. Donald Valdez’s bill to invest an extra $250,000 for grants for equipment and training for rural fire protection districts.

“Many of our rural fire districts have a dire need for equipment upgrades, and I hope this gives us a start toward giving them the tools they need,” said Rep. Valdez, D-La Jara.

The governor also traveled to Lake Pueblo State Park to sign HB18-1008, which continues funding for the state’s efforts to keep aquatic nuisances out of Colorado.
