Grizzlies tear up pitch in win

ALAMOSA – Adams State University men's soccer team tore apart Rogers State University this Sunday at noon in Alamosa by way of a 3-0 victory. Adams hits the road to kick off a four-game road stretch, opening up against Texas-Permian Basin September 8th in Odessa, Texas.

The Grizzlies may have rolled to a slow start, but when things weren't looking the brightest Carlos Castro turned on the lights for his team. Marcus Wilson launched a ball to a streaking Castro, who edged out his defender and put the ball in the lower corner of the net. Shock and awe was throughout the pitch, but this was just the beginning.

Later in a long, heated first half, Ruben Molinar capitalized off of a mistake from the Hillcat's goalie. The goalie blocked a shot, but straight to Molinar who struck the ball in for his first goal of the season.

The final nail in the coffin came when Molinar put a perfectly placed corner kick in position for Howard Samuel to head the ball into the corner of the net in the 50th minute.

A heated game was an understatement, as both teams and refs felt the heat from the temperature and the game. There were a total of 28 fouls in this match, with Rogers State dishing out 18. There were also eight yellow cards dished out, with each team getting four.
