Groups perform Mozart pieces

ALAMOSA — The SLV Symphony Orchestra and the Valley Community Chorus will present Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Requiem at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 5, at the Alamosa Sacred Heart Church, located on 715 E. Fourth St.

The VCC will also perform the concert at 7 p.m. Friday, May 3, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, located in Conejos, Colo.

Requiem is one of the most performed and beloved masterworks in the choral music repertoire.

Joining the orchestra and choir are four soloists who are current or former students of the University of New Mexico Master of Vocal Music program: Mary Brzezinski, soprano; Karah Ingraham, mezzo-soprano; Gabriel Mark Deyarmond, tenor; and Tychiko Cox, baritone.

Tickets

Tickets are $10 for general public and free for AS&F members. Proceeds go to scholarships and awards to promising young singers and instrumentalists.

“Come and join us for one of the greatest works of Classical Music ever written,” said David Schneider.
