Guardrail repair underway

CONEJOS COUNTY —Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) maintenance crews will be performing roadside work this week along US Highway (US) 285 and along Colorado Highway (CO) 142. The work will take place through Wednesday, November 30.

The roadside work will include the repair or the removal and replacement of damaged guardrails at the two locations:

US 285, between mile points (MP) 5.5 and 6.5, just north of Antonito, and

CO 142, between MP 5.5 and 6.5, just east of Romeo and Manassa.

HIGHWAY TRAVEL IMPACTS: Motorists may encounter intermittent lane shifts, closures and brief traffic stops of 15-20 minutes. Motorists will be guided by a pilot vehicle. The maintenance operations will take place from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., November 28 - 30.

The traveling public is urged to obey signage and speed reductions of 40 MPH through the work zone. Motorists should also be aware of signage, flaggers, maintenance workers and heavy equipment on and along the roadway.
