Habitat for Humanity benefit dinner set for October 13

ALAMOSA — It’s a benefit dinner for Habitat for Humanity! Come for a delicious dinner hosted by SLV Health on Friday, October 13th in the main lobby at the Regional Medical Center in Alamosa. Delectable cuisine will be prepared by Mark Lara and Donna Mabry, choice of prime rib, stuffed trout or vegan seitan wellington.

Support Habitat’s work in the San Luis Valley and help build a place to call HOME! Benefit tickets are $75. For tickets and reservations, call Habitat (719) 589-8688 or Patti Thompson (719) 587-1203 or through Habitat’s website www.slvhabitat.org.

Habitat for Humanity serves low-income families who are unable to receive a traditional home loan. Affordable home construction is completed by applicants with the help of hundreds of volunteers. The homes are then purchased by applicant families with no-profit, 0 percent interest mortgages.

The newest future homeowner is LaTara. SLV Health’s benefit dinner will purchase roof trusses for LaTara’s home-to-be. Additional support for LaTara’s home is given by Rite of Passage Carpentry Apprentice Program, Southern CO Community Foundation, Anschutz Family Foundation and many, many kind hearts and hands!
