Henry Pete Martinez
Henry Pete Martinez was born on March 29, 1984, to Betty Tafoya and Roy Pete Martinez in Monte Vista, Colo.
He is survived by his wife Danielle Martinez of Monte Vista and his five kids, (Daughters Francesca and Daniesha Martinez) and (Sons Henry Jr., Zephaniah, and Emmanuel Martinez), his mom Betty Tafoya (Delta, Colo.) siblings Roy Martinez and Randy Martinez of Alamosa Colo., Antonio and Michelle Martinez (Toppenish, Wash.), Mandy Martinez of Center Colo., Emilio Martinez of Delta, Colo., Mother-in-Law Rachel Salazar (Del Norte), Brother’s in law Josiah (Stella) Espinoza (Tampa, Fla.), Jesse Salazar-Espinoza (Monte Vista), Sister’s in law, Larissa (Cisco) Aguilar, (Del Norte), Jasmine Salazar Espinoza (Monte Vista), Noami Salazar-Espinoza (Monte Vista), and Yarika Salazar Espinoza (Monte Vista), and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by Father-in-Law, Paul Espinoza (Monte Vista).
Henry was a very family-oriented man who enjoyed spending time with his family, was a talented artist who loved drawing pictures for his family and friends, and he loved to dance and listen to music. He was an excellent cook who worked several different places as a cook but was known for his many years as a cook at Ninos in Monte Vista, who became his other family. He loved joking around, was a big kid at heart and loved playing with the kids.
His unique personality and talents live on in his kids. Celebration Services will be held Saturday, Oct. 28, at 2 p.m. at Valley Church of the Nazarene, 228 Madison St., Monte Vista, CO, 81144 with a viewing at Strohmayer's Funeral Home from 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. prior to the service. Graveside services will follow the service and will be at Center Assembly of God Cemetery in La Garita, with a meal following at the Nazarene Church. If possible, wear his favorite colors purple, black, green.
