Heredia, Gonzales win their Alamosa school district races

ALAMOSA — Eli Heredia won the Alamosa School District RE-11J Director - District 1, and April Gonzales won the Alamosa School District -11J Director - District 2 , races on Tuesday night.

Heredia beat Justin Rilling by 1,913 votes to 1,188, and Gonzales defeated Jan DeSautell 1,683-1,469.

I have served on the Alamosa School Board for a one-year term and would like to continue to work to ensure our students can succeed in school and also be prepared for there future,” said Heredia by email days prior to the election. “I want to continue to build on the work I have already done for The Alamosa School District.”

April Gonzales, who is an Alamosa native, as well as a graduate of Alamosa High School and Adams State, has been involved with the Alamosa School District over the past several years while serving on the Alamosa School District Accountability Committee, Ortega Middle School Accountability Committee and the Alamosa High School Accountability Committee.

Michael Mumper ran unopposed, as he won the Alamosa School District RE-11J Director-District 5 election, and Katrina Brown ran unopposed en route to her victory for the Alamosa School District RE-11J Director-District 6 position.
