Hospice schedules volunteer training

VALLEY — Interested in becoming a hospice volunteer? Volunteers are welcome to join a team of dedicated, compassionate volunteers and staff who visit individuals and families in the home; assist with office tasks; and embark on new, creative projects!

Hospice especially needs volunteers to visit persons in the far reaches of the San Luis Valley such as Saguache, Creede, South Fork, Antonito, and San Luis.

A Hospice Volunteer Training is scheduled for two days: Thursday, April 27 and Saturday, April 29, from 9 a.m.- 4 p.m. at the Hospice del Valle Office at 514 Main Street in Alamosa. Both days of training are required for new volunteers.

While hospice’s work is serious, hospice appreciate that life is meant to be lived to its fullest!  The trainings are enjoyable and the participants often become fast friends.
