Ida Clara Sandoval

DEL NORTE — Ida Clara Sandoval passed away on January 1, 2021, in Pueblo, Colorado.  Ida was born September 2, 1928, in La Garita, Colorado to Melaquias Aguilar and Victoria (Baca) Aguilar.  Ida was raised in Del Norte and Sargent area while growing up. She married Orlando Sandoval on July 9, 1947.  From this union, they had seven children.

Ida was very active in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Monte Vista and Alamosa for many years.  Ida worked at Gerry’s Outdoor Sports for several years.  She enjoyed sewing for others and needlework.  Ida’s greatest joy was taking care of her home.

She is survived by her children, Nancy Sandoval from Denver, Sharon (Steve) Hanlon from Pueblo, Daryl (Shirley) Sandoval from Wheatridge, Sam (Jackie) Sandoval from Brighton, Ben (Corinne) Sandoval from Capulin, Oneida (Kerry) Richardson from Boulder and Reuben (Jackie) Sandoval from Northglenn. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild and her sisters Joan Aguilar from Northglenn, Esther (Manuel) Martinez from Broomfield and her brother Tim (Connie) Aguilar from Surprise, Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her husband Orlando Sandoval, her parents Melaquias and Victoria Aguilar, her brothers, Lee Aguilar and Tony Aguilar, her sisters Edna Meester and Precilla Cavan.

Ida was cremated and will be interned with her beloved husband Orlando Sandoval at the Veterans Cemetery in Monte Vista.  A Celebration of Life for Ida will be at a later date due to the restrictions of COVID-19.
